Adding Terrain to Space Hulk

Image byJeff Porter
I recently received a box of terrain that my friend Ron got from Corvus Game Terrain (https://corvusgamesterrain.com/). It came about from a conversation that he had gotten the terrain and thought it would be interesting to see how it might fit into our gaming, specifically Space Hulk. So this past weekend, I started on painting up the doors that came with the kit. The doors open straight up, leaving the frame in place.  This would be an awesome feature for the game!  Instead of the current mechanic of moving the whole door to the side to represent an open door, you just pull the door out (and they slide up and down easily), leaving the frame.  The downside is that the door frame is not wide enough to fit a model in the doorway (depending on the model's pose).

SM standing in the doorway - tight fit for this fella.

I sent a note to Steve O'Boyle over at Corvus Games and he indicated that he's in the process of designing Space Hulk corridors that mimic the card floor tiles based on a 40mm base for each miniature.  While we don't use the 40mm bases for our SH terminators, that would allow players to use their terminators between 40k and SH games without re-basing them (or doing fancy magnetizing stuff).
